King’s Faith is a fast-paced film that quickly grabbed the attention of my youth group who related to the characters. They thought the representation of the CU and school were realistic and could see similarities with their own schools. The group said they would be happy to watch the film with their non-Christian friends as the dreaded ‘cringe-factor’ that too often comes with faith-based films didn’t rear its ugly head. They did however have some questions about the ending.
King’s Faith doesn’t end as neatly as you’d expect from this kind of film, which makes it more realistic, as life hardly ever seems to end neatly. I would be happy to show this again in a youth group but I will be ready to answer some questions about the ending. The film is a great discussion starter for both Christian and ‘seeker’ youth groups as it illustrates how having faith in God affects decisions.
