ACTION 1: Bought a fair trade bean sprout?

Buy a fair trade product you’ve never bought before.

Fair trade is about more than coffee and bananas. As supermarkets begin to stock more fair trade stock, why not use your power as a consumer to buy these items? This not only guarantees a better deal for third world producers, it also sends the message to big supermarkets that we as consumers are concerned with where our food is sourced from, and that we want more ethical items available. We can speak up with how we spend our money.

ACTION 2: Spread the word

Persuade five other people to take a campaign action.

Lots of people don’t know the issues in our world but once they do know, they want to do something about it. Rhythms will publish the latest campaign we’re speaking out about, so check out the website and rally your mates to action. Send us an email asking for postcards, and we’ll wing them to you. Post the campaign on Facebook and be a voice for the voiceless - helping to bring about an end to world hunger.

ACTION 3: Meet your MP

Go with friends or family to meet your MP.

MPs are there to represent you, and what you feel is important. Why not email your local MP, get a few mates and organise a meeting with them? You can find lots of information about issues on the Rhythms website, as well as a fantastic ‘How-to’ guide. Meeting your MP will be exciting and might be a little bit scary, but they are there to fight for you and represent you, so go for it!

The brand new Rhythms website and app are a great tool for investing in patterns of ordinary life that help us become the kinds of people that change the world. You can choose from four different Rhythms and spend 30 days investing in small actions, like the three above, that deepen our discipleship and give us practical ways to outwork our faith in a God of justice and hope.
