Annual crime survey 2016

The Office of National Statistics annual crime survey caused quite a stir when it was published in August 2016. It is used to estimate crime levels and asks those aged 16 and over about their experiences of crime over the last twelve months. But in 2016, for the first time, childhood sexual abuse was included and the survey found that one in 14 adults in England and Wales were sexually abused as children. It also revealed that:
