What questions do your children and young people ask you about the Christian faith? Some of them are sure to be in this list of the most read Premier NexGen articles
Children and young people are full of questions and that’s a great thing! So many of us adults have settled for what we think we know and have lost the curiosity and quizzical lens that we need to grow in faith – in this, our youth and children have much to teach us!
But what questions are your children and young people asking? And what can you say or do in response? Well here are the top 5 questions from youth and children that Christian parents wanted to know the answer to ……
1. What does God look Like?

Joanne Gilchrist wrote our most popular article, starting off with her 5-year-olds question: “Does God have teeth?” – Joanne answers this and the wider question age appropriately, biblically and helpfully.
2. Who made God?

This of course is an old chestnut of a question, so it’s perhaps not surprising it came high up on our list. Joanne also answered this one and did so with the obvious and concise answer: “No one.” There is of course more to say – read Joanne’s article for more on what to say and how to say it.
3. Why do Christians sing so much?

Drawing on scripture and her experience as a mum Becky Peacock gives four reasons why Christians sing, namely: The Bible tells us to; singing expresses emotion; it helps us remember truth and it unites us. Click on the link to read her reasoning behind those four.
4. If God is all powerful, what’s the point of praying?

Becky clearly knows what questions youth and children are asking as much as Joanne does as she also wrote the fourth articles in this list. It is, of course, a great question – Becky answers it by majoring on how prayer is about relationship not information.
5. Aren’t all religions the same?

Another great question – this time answered by Andy du Feu. With Christians sometimes accused of being exclusive and arrogant this question is an essential one for our children and young people to grapple with. Andy provides a really clear, biblical and winsome response for you to read through.
The questions youth and children ask do change over time but there is also a significant consistency, so we’ll keep answering the old chestnuts and the fresh, new questions your youth and children are asking so keep an eye out for what is coming next in 2026.
