    Student Life Application Study Bible

    2023-03-02T11:58:00Z

The text is as inspired as ever and with ever new formats for niche groups, that needs saying. We have never had so many tools for Bible study, but had so few Bible students. But this will certainly help. First published in 1988, the Student Life Application ...

    Who is the Trinity?

    2022-08-25T14:03:00Z

It’s September and the kids are heading back to school: parents breathe a sigh of relief, teachers pull together the final few lesson plans and children’s and youth workers prep for a new term. In the spirit of it all, I thought we too could school ourselves on the basics of theology.

    Room one

    2022-07-28T12:54:00Z

When I was in my early teens I used to play a computer game called Calypso Island. It was a text-based adventure game. No graphics, no elaborate screen designs, just words. Hard to imagine that now, isn’t it? But I was completely hooked. I spent hours and hours playing this game. In my defence it was a long time ago.

    Who is the Holy Spirit?

    2022-07-28T09:07:00Z

My Pentecost celebrations this year involved unloading a van of soggy camping gear and covering our entire church building in tents. We had just returned from Big Church Day Out (other Christian festivals are available, and probably happening as you read this). We had taken 35 or so people from our church community on the weekend, many of whom had never camped before or attended our Sunday service.

Forming faith rituals: Faith at home at Christmas

    2019-10-22T00:00:00Z

Advent and Christmas are notoriously busy; so much so that there could be a case for not bothering to do anything faith-focused at home and just starting again in the new year. However, I believe it’s such a wonderful season that we would be crazy not to take advantage of the opportunities.

    2019-08-21T00:00:00Z

My son looked at me wide-eyed. He’d clambered up the big climbing frame but didn’t know how to get down. “Mummeeeee!” he cried. “You’re fine,” I said. “Look, there’s a safe place for your foot here...Hold on to that bit there...One step at a time.” As his feet hit solid ...

    The Soul story

    2019-07-18T00:00:00Z

My first experience of Soul Survivor freaked me out. I grew up in a Christian home but had never really heard of the Holy Spirit, so my 14-year-old self was utterly devoid of boxes within which to place the bizarre manifestations I saw happening all around me. What on earth was going on? Why were so many young people laughing, crying, shaking and falling over?
