New year isn’t necessarily a family event designed with younger children in mind. My youngest, currently four, has put in a request to stay up late this new year and watch the Bee Gees, which is what she considers to be ‘new year’. (Just to clarify, last year we watched a documentary about the Bee Gees with my other daughter as she loved the music, and it was safer than most stuff that was broadcast late on New Year’s Eve!)
