Bear Gryll’s lastest book was far and away our most read review of the year but there were some less well known choices that were popular too. It was good to see a review by a teenager getting a lot of traction but also an unusual computer game which has been receving rave reviews. If you’ve not checked out the following books and game then have a read now and consider getting hold of them for your youth and children in 2026……

Perhaps the biggest Christian book release of 2025 isn’t aimed at young people but, says Alice Pinney, it works really well with teenagers – by presenting the gospel in a really fresh way it can reawaken faith journey, connecting head and heart, and offering a bridge from passive knowledge to personal encounter. 2. The new book that helps Christian teenagers navigate an uncertain world

Worth It is a book for teens that covers discipleship in the contemporary world. Mum of two teens herself, Alex Parker, loved both the content and the tone and had no reservations about recommending it to any Christian parents looking for a great discipleship resource for their teens.

3.The Serpent and The Seed: An online game that is a beautiful, generous gift to the world

Readers liked Joanne Gilchrist’s review and Joanne loved this computer game which came out this year. Aimed at teens and young adults Joanne thinks that “this game is a beautiful, generous gift to the world and demands nothing from you except your time” – if you haven’t yet played the game, or red the article, why not give them a go.

4. Green Ember: The book series for youth and children that rivals Narnia

It’s a bold title for sure but Nathanael Buston knows the audience – after all his is a 14-year-old lad himself! One of the things he really liked was how they were not only captivating but a bit easier to read than some of the classics like the Narnia series or Lord of the Rings.
