1. Be creative

One of our favourite Easter games is a ‘how would you eat yours?’ contest. Give each member of the group an egg (possibly one filled with ‘Creme’) and challenge them to eat it in the most creative way. One member of Team Youthwork once won this game by smashing it on his forehead and eating it as it trickled down his face. It really hurt.

2. Hide and don’t seek

This is simple – hide the Easter eggs, but we’re not talking about your traditional Easter egg hunt here. Simply hide the eggs around your home and office and then forget all about them. Over the next year(s), every now and then, you’ll stumble across a chocolatey treat! Seriously, is there anything better than surprise chocolate?

3. Chocolate = percussion

We’re not rhythm experts at Youthwork, but we have noticed that those weird, egg-shape things that some of the rhythmists hold and shake do look a bit like chocolate eggs. Simply inject your eggs with ‘hundreds and thousands’ or other small confectionary and BAM, you’ve got edible maracas! Just don’t hold them too hard, or you’ll end up with - what they call in the business - ‘cocoa palms’.

4. Use them as decorations

Easter eggs are the most beautiful of all foodstuffs. Neatly wrapped in pretty paper, they wouldn’t look out of place in the most ornately decorated of living rooms. Take advantage of their glory by strategically placing them around your home or church to bring some added glitz and glamour. Alternatively, you could create dairy-based Russian dolls. (N.B. Don’t do this in summer.)

5. Easter clothing

It’s standard fare at Christmas to don a Santa’s hat, some flashing earrings and a snowman tie – and we think such festivity should extend to all events on the Christian calendar. Our suggestions: Easter egg earrings, Mexican style Easter hat with dangling mini eggs, a polka-dot inspired Easter egg t-shirt.

6. Eat them

This is the toughest of all the possibilities, but one that we are sure you are capable of. If none of the solutions above work then you are left with only one choice – dinner. You could spread them out over a period of months, host a series of egg-themed dinner parties or finish them off in one sitting.
