I’m so excited for those who are just starting university. This is the best time of year, because all of our young adults migrate the country and we all get to meet them!

Firstly, I’d say prepare yourself. Don’t assume that when you rock up to a new life status and new culture you’ll suddenly know exactly what kind of decisions you’ll want to make, or what it might look like to make some real, positive choices that help you be salt and light in a new culture rather than just ‘go with the flow’.

Something that might help is our Student Link Up resource, which helps you to prepare for some of these things. You can engage with this either by yourself or with a group of Christian friends.

Student Link-Up does what it says on the tin. We link new students up to their new university location and introduce them personally to their new local church communities that are geared for welcoming students. Just type your city or university in the search bar and we’ll do the rest.

As you rock up to uni, follow Jesus the best way you can to make sure you start as you mean to go on, along with preparing and praying and thinking it through.

I honestly dare you to name-drop Jesus or in some way get your faith out there in the first 24 hours. It becomes much harder to out yourself as a Christian, not because everyone’ll be mean, but because you get nervous the longer you leave it.

If you’re a student right now, then you’re at a pivotal time not only in your life but in the lives of your mates too.

We at Fusion believe we can see a significant move of God among students in this generation and we want to equip you with the tools and training you need to help you play your part in this through your church community.

The gospel is still true, it still saves, and we are still called to go for it in sharing Jesus.

“But how can people call for help if they don’t know who to trust? And how can they know who to trust if they haven’t heard of the One who can be trusted? And how can they hear if nobody tells them? And how is anyone going to tell them, unless someone is sent to do it? That’s why Scripture exclaims, A sight to take your breath away! Grand processions of people telling all the good things of God!” Romans 10:14-17, The Message.
